A WordPress Theme by Bikram
StorySaga
Every portfolio has a story.
StorySaga is a classic, editorial WordPress theme built for developers, designers, photographers, writers, and freelancers who want their work presented as chapters of a professional journey — not just a grid of thumbnails.
Why StorySaga
Built the Classic Way
No Full Site Editing dependency, no fragile block-template validation. StorySaga uses WordPress's proven template hierarchy — the same architecture that's powered reliable themes for over a decade.
Accessible by Design
Keyboard-friendly navigation built on the W3C's own accessible Disclosure pattern — proper focus handling, Escape-to-close, and a visible skip link. Not an afterthought.
Zero Dependencies
No Elementor, no page builder, no framework required to run the theme itself. Just WordPress core APIs — the template hierarchy, the Customizer, widget areas, and the block editor for content.
Content-First Homepage
Your homepage hero is your own Page title and content — written in the normal editor, no custom fields, no page-builder lock-in.
Who It's For
Designed for people who do the work themselves
StorySaga was built around one idea: your portfolio should read like a story with a beginning, a process, and a resolution — not a static gallery.
– Developers who want their case studies to actually explain the thinking
– Designers who need editorial, not templated, presentation
– Photographers who want large, unhurried imagery
– Writers who want typography that carries weight
– Freelancers who need a homepage that closes the deal
A Restrained, Editorial Design Language
Paper and ink. A warm serif for headlines, a clean sans for body text. One accent color used with intention, not decoration. StorySaga’s entire visual system lives in a handful of CSS custom properties — easy to read, easy to extend.
**Palette**
Paper `#FAF7F2` · Ink `#1C1B19` · Sienna `#B0492D` · Bronze `#8A6D3B` · Slate `#6B6560` · Surface `#EFE9DF`
**Typography** — An editorial serif for headings paired with a system sans-serif body, on a fluid type scale that adjusts smoothly from mobile to desktop.
**Dark Mode** — An optional “Midnight Chapter” dark palette, switchable from the Customizer. Not OS-detected — the site owner controls it explicitly.
Eleven Ready-Made Sections, Insertable Anywhere
Beyond the templates, StorySaga ships with a full library of block patterns — available in the block inserter on any post or page. Drop them in, edit the text, done.
1. **Hero / Introduction** — Editorial opening spread with a portrait and two calls to action
2. **About Me** — Two-column biography with quick facts
3. **Featured Projects** — Curated, hand-picked project spotlight
4. **Project Grid (Live)** — Auto-updating grid pulling your latest work
5. **Services** — Full-bleed band presenting what you offer
6. **Skills** — Grouped, categorized skill index
7. **Experience Timeline** — A dated history of roles and milestones
8. **Story Chapters** — Numbered breakdown of your creative journey
9. **Testimonials** — Large pull-quote client feedback
10. **Call to Action** — High-contrast closing band
11. **Contact Section** — Direct contact info, no form plugin required

Built by Bikram
I'm a WordPress theme and plugin developer publishing on WordPress.org as [bikram_sth](https://profiles.wordpress.org/bikram_sth/). StorySaga joins a growing set of themes I've built and taken through full submission and review cycles — including StoryPress, a news and magazine theme, and StoryWeave, a literary blog theme with five layout modes and built-in dark mode. On the plugin side, I've built a GDPR cookie consent banner and a Cash-on-Delivery order verification plugin for WooCommerce, both approved on WordPress.org.
I test everything on real devices, chase down bugs reviewer feedback surfaces rather than just checklists, and iterate until it's actually right — not just technically passing.
